TutorChase Ltd

A UK EdTech matching students with elite tutors. We started in 2022 with bookkeeping setup; today we run their close, financial models, and investor reports as their outsourced finance function.

TutorChase came to us in 2022 as an early-stage UK EdTech — a marketplace pairing students preparing for elite university admissions with experienced tutors. The books were where most founders' books are at that stage: a working spreadsheet, no chart of accounts to speak of, no reliable view of cash beyond the bank balance.

We started with the foundations: a proper chart of accounts, bank and credit card reconciliation, AR/AP processes, and a real month-end close. Within the first few months the books were current and the founder could see a clean P&L every month instead of guessing at quarter-end.

As the business grew, the brief grew with it. We added management reporting and KPI packs, then financial modelling — cash flow forecasts and budgets the founder could actually defend in board conversations. When the business reached the investor-conversation stage, our outputs were already in the shape investors expected.

Today the engagement runs as a stable monthly retainer — core bookkeeping plus reporting plus the ad-hoc financial modelling that comes with a growing business. The founder spends his time on growth; we keep the finance function running underneath.
