MR-Accountants
About us

A finance team in Dhaka.
A partner in your timezone.

Led by Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), serving SMBs across the US, UK, Australia, and APAC — with the practitioner mindset of a Big-4 alum and the responsiveness of an in-house team.

Why we exist

Financial clarity should not be a privilege of scale.

A company doing $1M asks the same questions as a company doing $50M. Are these numbers right. Can we afford this hire. What does cash look like in ninety days.

The only real difference is that one of them can put a finance team on payroll and the other cannot. Everything else on this page is an answer to that gap.

The vision: a world where the quality of a company’s finance function is decided by how well it is run, not by how much it can afford to spend or where it happens to be.

Our story

Built by accountants who got tired of being treated like cost centres.

MR-Accountants was founded by Mujibur Rahman, ACCA, after a decade spent on the inside of practice firms watching SMB clients get short shrift — bookkeeping treated as a cost to grind down, and the strategic conversation kept for “real” clients.

We started with a simple idea: SMBs deserve the same finance partner a $50M company has — closed books, real reports, and someone to call when the numbers stop making sense. Just at a price that makes sense for a $1M business.

Six years on, we’re ~30 accountants headquartered in Dhaka, led by Chartered Certified Accountants, with a US LLC registered in Wyoming (MR-Accountants LLC) as the contracting entity for our American clients, and a new sister office in Kuala Lumpur (MRA Business Solutions Sdn. Bhd.) for APAC. The work itself is delivered from Dhaka on shifts that cover US, UK, Bangladesh, and Malaysia business hours — and we’re building an AI-assisted accounting product to make the work even better, not just cheaper.

The mission

Books closed to the day, numbers ready for decisions, no financial surprises.

Three promises, each one breakable on purpose. Below each is what backs it, and the thing that would mean we had broken it.

Closed to the day

Daily accrual accounting, not monthly in arrears.

We have broken it when
Books run days behind.

Ready for decisions

Management and board reporting, KPI packs, variance analysis.

We have broken it when
A client reformats our output before using it.

No surprises

Approval-routed payments, proactive flags, four levels of review.

We have broken it when
A client learns something after the fact.
What we hold to

Four values, and what each one costs us.

Integrity, transparency and client-centricity are not on this list. No firm has ever published the opposite, which is how you know they do no work.

01

We do not inherit numbers we have not checked

Before we take responsibility for your books going forward, we look at what came before. Not to audit you, and not to criticise whoever handled it last, but because we cannot stand behind this year if last year is wrong.

Material prior period errors are corrected by retrospective restatement in line with IAS 8, never absorbed into the current period. This costs unbilled hours and occasionally a deal. We do it anyway.

Broken when
We take on ongoing work on opening balances nobody has verified.
02

Nothing reaches a client unreviewed

Every deliverable passes four levels of review before you see it. When something does get through, you hear it from us first.

We never claim error-free work or 100% accuracy. Both are non-credible in accounting and both create exposure. The claim is that errors are caught before delivery, and self-reported when they are not.

Broken when
A deliverable goes out on one person's word, or a client finds an error we already knew about.
03

One hour or the whole department

The size of your business does not decide the quality of your finance function. Start with a single hour if that is what you need. Some of our largest engagements began that way.

This is the vision made operational, and it is also our acquisition model. Small entry, demonstrated competence, expansion into the full function. It only works if the first hour is delivered to the same standard as the hundredth.

Broken when
We decline work for being too small, or staff it as filler.
04

Money does not move without approval

Payments route through you before they leave. Problems are flagged before they happen, not explained afterwards.

Approval thresholds, segregation of duties, and a maintained record of zero duplicate or fraudulent payments across all client accounts. We hold bank access for companies that will never visit our office.

Broken when
A client learns about a payment after it left.
Why the quality holds

Four people check your numbers before you see them.

Competitors claim accuracy. Almost none can describe the mechanism that produces it. A described system is checkable; an adjective is not.

1Junior accountantSelf-check against source documents before submission
2Mid-level accountantCategorisation and reconciliation accuracy
3Senior accountant or finance leadFinal review and sign-off
4Quality assurance officerIndependent check on the completed deliverable
How we behave

Calm is the product.

A client hands us their bank access, their payment authority and their numbers. Underneath every message is a low, constant anxiety: is this right, am I exposed, what do I not know yet. The job is to lower that, permanently.

We never manufacture urgency
No countdowns, no scarcity, no “act now”. Pressure is the opposite of what we sell.
We never hide the limits of what we do
Saying we do not file taxes early builds more confidence than discovering it in month three destroys.
We are predictable on purpose
The same reporting pack, the same structure, the same day each month.
We put bad news at the top
A flagged problem is evidence the system works. A hidden one is evidence it does not.
The team

The accountants you’ll actually work with.
