Accountant

You will run a portfolio of client books end to end: the close, the reporting, and the conversation with the client about what the numbers mean. With juniors working under you and three people reviewing above you.

What the role is

We run the finance function for companies across North America, Europe and Asia. As an Accountant here you own a portfolio of those clients: you prepare the close, you review what the juniors produce, and you are the person the client asks when a number looks wrong.

Nothing you produce reaches a client unreviewed. Three people look at it after you, and you look at the work of the people before you. That structure is the reason accountants develop quickly here.

What you will do

Own a portfolio of client accounts and be the first point of contact on anything financial.

Prepare and review financial statements under IFRS or US GAAP: balance sheet, income statement, cash flow.

Review the work of junior accountants on categorisation and reconciliation, and mentor them through it.

Analyse what the numbers are saying and turn it into something the client can act on.

Find and fix accounting issues before the client does, and flag anything that needs their decision.

Hold the line on data security and client confidentiality, on every account you touch.

Keep current on standards and tools, including software you have not used before.

Improve how the work runs, not just do it. Process changes here come from the people doing the job.

What we are looking for

BBA or MBA in Accounting or Finance, or CA, ACCA or CPA. Part-qualified at second level or above is preferred.

Three to five years across finance and accounting roles.

Comfortable in QuickBooks or Xero, and strong in Excel.

Careful with detail, and able to explain what you found to someone who is not an accountant.

Able to hold several client deadlines at once without dropping any of them.
